Sahar Albazar is an Egyptian Member of Parliament & the Deputy Chair of Foreign Affairs Committee at the Parliament. Albazar is a global leader in artificial intelligence policy, digital governance, and emerging technologies. She currently serves as the Egypt Country Director at the Global AI Council, where she leads national engagement on AI strategy, partnerships, and policy alignment with global standards.
At the continental level, she is the Vice President of the Africa AI Forum, contributing to shaping Africa’s collective voice on AI governance, innovation ecosystems, and inclusive digital transformation.
Internationally, Sahar serves as a Volunteer Advisor to the Cabinet of Pakistan on AI policy, supporting the development of forward-looking regulatory frameworks and national AI strategies. She has also worked closely with the Egyptian government on AI policy, contributing to national efforts to integrate artificial intelligence into economic development, public services, and governance systems.
Her work focuses on bridging policy and implementation—ensuring that AI is deployed responsibly to drive economic growth, improve public sector efficiency, and promote social inclusion. She brings a unique combination of legislative experience, international policy engagement, and cross-regional collaboration across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
Sahar is also a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, Yale World Fellow, and Harvard Kennedy School graduate, with a strong track record in shaping global conversations on technology, governance, and development.
