Maysaa Nemer is an Assosiate Professor of Public Health and Head of the Environmental and Occupational Health Unit at the Institute of Community and Public Health at Birzeit University, Palestine. She holds a PhD in Public Health (Occupational Epidemiology) and MPhil in International Community Health from the University of Oslo, Norway.


Her research focuses on environmental and occupational health, climate change and health, health systems, implementation research, and the social determinants of health, with particular attention to women, adolescents, and vulnerable populations. Her work examines occupational and environmental exposures, precarious employment, health system resilience, and the intersection of public health, equity, and policy. She also conducts research on digital health, health data governance, and the ethical and human rights dimensions of health information systems and artificial intelligence, particularly in relation to women's health and responsible innovation. Through her research and teaching, she seeks to strengthen evidence-informed decision-making and promote equitable, ethical, and sustainable public health policies and practices in Palestine and the wider region.
