Alessandro Giovanni Lamonica

Adjunct Professor, Brussels School of Governance; Research Associate, School’s Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy (CSDS); Director of the Public Policies Unit, Anna Lindh Foundation.

Alessandro G. Lamonica is an adjunct professor at the Brussels School of Governance, where he teaches MA-level courses on the theory and practice of public and cultural diplomacy. Bridging academia and policy, he serves as a Research Associate at the School’s Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy (CSDS) and is currently the Director of the Public Policies Unit at the Anna Lindh Foundation.

Alessandro holds a PhD in European Studies and International Relations from the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies. He has an extensive background in managing EU-funded research and has provided strategic consultancy to both governmental and non-governmental organisations on policy development.

His previous leadership roles include serving as the co-founder and deputy director of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in Cultural Relations and Diplomacy (CREDO) at the University of Siena and as a long-standing member of the Consortium Board of the European Commission’s Cultural Relations Platform.

A foreign policy analyst by training, his research focuses on the EU’s external relations and the cultural determinants of agent behaviour in international relations.
